I remember getting my first Atari 2600. I played it for hours and hours. I must have been around 12 years old, had some old baseball cards that my brothers used to collect, they didn't want them anymore. I snatched every card out of the attic and looked through them. there were alot of cards in there that were worth alot of money, atleast to a 12 year old boy. I didn't know this at first and had looked around for someone to buy them. A gentleman came to the house, I didn't really know him but had seen him around town. He introduced himself. he was a really nice guy, he had looked at all the cards I had, which I had around 2000 cards. He told me that I had some good cards in the box and was willing to pay me $80.00. I jumped up with joy and said I would take the money and sold the cards to him. I asked my mom to please take me to a store that sold the Atari 2600, she did and I bought it. Now I was the proud owner of that system. I got really good at the Miss Pacman and other games they had avaliable. I used to make my older brothers mad becausethey would play me and have to sit for a few hours watching me run up the score. That was a proud moment for me, to finally beat my brothers at something that they had no control over lol. But in the end, I found out that alot of the cards I had sold to that gentleman was worth alot more than $80.00. They were worth more than $5000.00 and plus some because there were some rookie cards in the box that my brothers had saved that were worth quite abit of money. I look at it this way, I was 12 years old, a fun loving kid, and wanted that Atari, to me, that was the best time of my life. That Atari to me was worth way more than $5000.00. Sorry to make this so long and maybe some of you won't enjoy this, I mean my story, but this was my younger years and felt I should share this with someone,.... Take care all.... Wish I still had that Atari :(
